Antreas Yerolatsitis is a Cypriot Jazz guitar player. He was born in 1988 in Nicosia, Cyprus. At the age of 6 he started classical piano lessons in a music school in Nicosia, that was in collaboration with London’s Royal School of Music. After 3 years of learning basic techniques on the piano, he attended Theory, followed by Harmony, Solfege and Morphology of classical music.
When he went to high school at the age of 15, he had his first classical guitar studies, for 1 year along with the piano studies. At the age of 16 – 20 he had rock/blues guitar and modern music theory lessons. In that period, he played rock/pop music with different bands in Cyprus, in various clubs and festivals in weekly basis.
At his 18th year, he attended the army for two years. After that, at the age of 20 he moved to Rotterdam for 1 year, to prepare himself for the entrance examinations of the various conservatories of the Netherlands. He was playing with students from the Rotterdam’s Conservatory, and he had lessons with teachers like EdVerhoef and Peter Nieuwerf.
In 2009 he got accepted and started his studies in the Royal Conservatory of The Hague as a Jazz Guitar performance bachelor student. After the bachelor, he got accepted in the masters program of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague from where he graduated in the summer of 2015. During that time he had the opportunity to take lessons from guitar teachers like Martijn Van Iterson and Eef Albers as well as saxophone teacher John Ruocco. He performed with the big band of the Royal Conservatory and he took part in various projects / bands as a leader or sideman. He was playing live on a regular basis in musical events, festivals, clubs and various stages in the Netherlands and abroad.
During his studies he had master-classes with artists like Kurt Rosenwinkel, Peter Bernstein, Gilad Hekselman, Brad Mehldau, Jason Moran and many others.
Since he graduated in 2015 he is performing in various projects along with his Jazz guitar trio. He recorded multiple times in studio with several bands like ‘Electrified Riffs’, his Jazz Trio and Emilio Tritto quartet. He is also teaching modern guitar and theory lessons in The Hague, Netherlands.
